The videos below show a 1:20 scale model of the turbine being tested in a specialised flume at Newcastle University. The first two show the view of the turbine through the glass side of the flume. Two different velocities of flow, and angular velocities of the turbine, are shown. Some of the instrumentation used to measure stresses in the blades can be seen at the right hand side. The third video shows a top view of the turbine in a higher speed flow. Note that the full size turbines/rotors will rotate at around 11RPM. The results of the tests can be found in the Published Papers section.
